  • PARKSTONE CLUB FC – GAME WEEK 1

This week the lads took on the newly relegated side Bournemouth Sports, as it was the first league game of the season the boys were firing to go.

The game started and the boys were on the front foot from the beginning with great pressure from Sam foley a chop and a finish was all that was needed to take the lead. Minutes later Sam Foleys pressure was yet to go unmentioned again where he had won the ball back and played a lovely pass into Matthew Stephenson’s path where the ball was in the back of the net 2-0. A lack of concentration let the opposition back into the game two quick fire goals meant the hosts were all level again. The game went flat for a few minutes with both teams battling it out looking for the next goal but up steps Ashton Guilfoyle a nutmeg on the way and a ball played into Merlin the ball was soon returned into what could only be described as a Robin van persieesc header to put the boys back in front. Just before the end of the half another ball in from Joshua cave with Frankie shears on the end of it to make it 4-2 at half time.

Second half kicked off and the game was back and forth both teams at each other for 20 minutes the game seemed flat, until the opposition had a bit of luck on the wing managing to fluke through a few players Bob Pigeon had no choice but to swipe the player out a penalty was given and the opposition had hope 4-3. The lads continued to dig deep to get that 2 goal lead back and up stepped Cramp Foley for his 2nd of the game a quick turn and a quality finish meant he was able to roll away to make it 5-3.

A great performance for the lads but plenty more to give.
